Simon Clark, Author GoH
Our guest of honor from the UK is the author of several stunning novels including Nailed by the Heart, Blood Crazy, Darker, Vampyrrhic and The Fall. Upcoming titles include new CD Publications editions of King Blood and Darker.

Michael Slade, Author GoH
Michael Slade is the pseudonym of Jay Clarke, a Vancouver-based trial lawyer specializing in cases for the criminally insane. As both defense and Crown counsel, he has been active in over one hundred murder cases. This background provides inspiration for Slade's Special X Psycho-Thrillers: Headhunter, Ghoul, Cutthroat, Ripper, Evil Eye, Primal Scream, Burnt Bones and Hangman, which reached number 2 on Canada's Bestseller List.

Headhunter and Cutthroat were reissued earlier this year from Penguin Canada. His daughter Rebecca collaborated with him on his last book, Hangman.

 

Jessica Amanda Salmonson, Editor GoH
The unique novels of Jessica Amanda Salmonson include The Golden Naginata, Ou Lu Khen & the Beautiful Madwoman, The Swordswoman, Tomoe Gozen, Thousand Shrine Warrior, and Anthony Shriek. She has also edited numerous collections of classic ghost and fantasy stories.

Charles Vess, Artist GoH
Charles Vess is the comics artist behind independent publisher Green Man Press. His illustrated series include Sandman, Books of Magic, and Stardust. His The Book of Ballads and Sagas won the 1995 Eisner award for Best New Series.

 

Jack Ketchum, Toastmaster
Our Toastmaster's intense novels include Stranglehold, Off Season, Red, The Girl Next Door and Ladies' Night. His short story "The Box" won a 1994 Stoker. Upcoming from CD Publications is The Lost.

World Horror Convention was proud to sponsor a Writers' Workshop for serious writers interested in getting feedback from published authors. The deadline for submissions wass April 19, 2001..At the convention:Each MS will be personally critiqued by 3 published writers. Written and verbal feedback will be given in a twenty minute block of time that will be scheduled in advance. Each writer will have five minutes to give feedback; the writer whose work is being critiqued will then have five minutes to ask questions. We recommend that you bring a notebook to this session.
